How to Wash Your Face … the Right Way

It’s amazing how many people don’t know how to properly wash their face. Many think that the more you wash, the less likely you are to experience acne breakouts. WRONG!

The truth is that over washing will actually encourage MORE acne. This is because over washing causes skin irritation and dryness.

When you over dry your skin, your pores will compensate by actually producing more sebum and increasing the likelihood of pore clogs. Using the wrong acne medication will have a very similar result.

Frequency

Over-washing will actually encourage MORE acne

You should wash your face no more than twice a day. Wash once in the morning and once at night - that’s it. Use a mild soap or cleanser with warm water.

Choosing a cleanser

Avoid cleansers that have salicylic acid when possible. Oftentimes, salicylic acid can be too abrasive.

The 3 Day Acne cure recommends using cleansers with glycerin. Why? Glycerin can actually act as a gentle moisturizer so it protects you from the danger of accidentally over drying your skin while washing.

NEVER use a washcloth to wash your face

Washcloths will irritate your skin and are far too abrasive. Use your hands and gently wash in circular motions.

Drying Your Face

When you dry your face, gently pat with a soft towel. This is crucial. Washing can be your friend or your enemy depending on how you do it. If you treat your face with kid gloves, it will reward you with a softer, less oily complexion.

This may sound like a simple regimen but it´s such an essential part of skin care. Making any of the mistakes mentioned above can easily yield unwanted pimples.
